Yoga has genuinely changed my life. I am passionate about yoga and its ability to make everything better. No matter the reason you first come to a yoga class, it is very likely that you will see fantastic results. There are numerous benefits to starting a yoga practice. Firstly, yoga promotes balance and wellbeing within the body; it will undoubtedly make you stronger and more mobile. Secondly, practicing yoga down regulates the nervous system, teaches mindfulness and optimal breathing. Consequently we feel calmer, more resilient and able to face challenges.
My approach is based on science. I am fascinated by anatomy and physiology, biomechanics and natural movement and take every opportunity to expand my knowledge in this area. Everything I learn is applied to my teaching, which is constantly evolving and improving. I will always be a student of yoga, as well as a teacher. My teacher is Ian Davis, of OrangeYoga in Cheltenham and I try to practice with him at least once a week. He shares my outlook of continual learning and growth and his teacher is Cyndi Lee.
Yoga can be seem by some as a solitary pursuit, but I don’t agree. Personally I consider community spirit and a sense of belonging to be cornerstones of the practice of yoga. I have therefore made the decision to focus the majority of my teaching within my local area. It is my hope that, as a result of this, we can build a friendly and supportive community through practicing yoga together. You can expect a warm welcome at any of my classes – it is important to me that everyone feels included and I am always happy to chat through any concerns.
